Best debut console

I have played so many games from the NES, (This list will include games I got a fan translated cartridge of)
Super Mario Bros 1-3 (and 2 Japan)
Castlevania 1
Zelda 1 and 2 (I like 2 a lot, I mean it's different and its challenging)
Final Fantasy 1-3
Dragon Quest/Warrior 1-4
Metroid
Bomberman
Tengen Tetris (better than Nintendo Tetris)
Mike Tyson's Punch Out
Mega Man 1-6
Duck Hunt
Contra

Don't get me wrong the PS1 had some great games, but I only ever really played (Ports from the SNES don't count in my book FF4-6 are not on here nor is Chrono Trigger)
Final Fantasy 7-9
Resident Evil 1-3
Gran Turismo 2
Xenogears
Tomb Raider
Final Fantasy Tactics
Silent Hill 1 and 2
Chrono Cross

Also in terms of graphics 8-bit while being worse than its 16 bit cousin, the SNES, holds up with a few exceptions, better than the PS1. This is simply due to the PS1's early games be the first few steps in 3d gaming. The later titles like FF9 looked beautiful, but put it simply, I personally prefer looking at 8 bit games over the PS1s or N64s graphics.
