Any Tips for Witcher 3 beginners?

I played for about 4-5 hours before my first sword broke. I'm sure I went through 20-30 weapons by that time in BOTW. So, it's really not the same.

Ok, that makes sense.  The real complaint is how fast they break in Zelda.
