LOL you are completely discounting perspective.

You hit a boxer with a 200 PSI punch and they will not think it is a hard hit.  You punch a 80 year old in the face at 200 PSI and they will more likely think you hit them hard.

The word hard and it's definition does not change but the perspective of the two individuals will be different. Take the word spicy for instance if you don't like my crap punching analogy, perspective plays a big role in what one person to the next considers spicy.

Context for words is paramount, there are plenty of words that change meaning depending on the context.
