The thread is fine. The people attacking it aren't.

I know two people who have sold their Wii's after being dissapointed with the software lineup and a third who is considering it. One guy won the Wii, and decided that he didn't have friends over enough to justify the multiplayer based console so he sold it for full price

...

I don't have an issue bagging the Wii. At least one of my "hard-core" Nintendo friends is border-line HATING the Wii - and for good reasons.

But this article doesn't state any good reasons. I'll bring up the point again that saying "I love old Nintendo games" ... "But I hate the Wii" - doesn't hold - thanks to the VC. Especially when he mentions online (lack of play), but doesn't mention access to Nintendo classics (since he is online after all).

...

PS - my friend is slowly starting to hate the Wii less. He hated Twilight (which I completely understand), and picked up Monkey Ball at launch (crud), Wii Play  (no depth), etc.

But I lent him ExciteTruck which he really likes, WarioWare which he enjoyed. He is now playing Mercury(??) - which he loves, and RE4 which he also really likes. I'm confident by the end of the year his Wii "hate" will have subsided considerably.
