Legit he did not look extremely high ranked. I long since ditched Unranked MP in Tekken as 50% of the time, I'd be having a laugh on Chloe or Miguel and have like 2 wins ever, and I get matched with a 4500 win King. I know it's unranked and expect it but they take it so seriously, it's weird.
I only ever played Tournaments now and even then it's jsut when I get the itch to play Tekken (No Team Battle means I don't play with my friends as much as that's what we used to mainly play).
