Epic overplayed his hand, and for a company that doesn’t want an exception they are getting one. If a small developer company violates the terms of agreement with Apple, the are kicked out in an instant, but epic gets a two week notice. Epic is acting as they are freedom fighters on behalf of the consumer, but until the rules have changed in case they win their case, they have to comply with the rules, even if they don’t like them or are unfair.
Apple has every right to end their developer program because they are still in violation of the agreed terms. The agreed terms are for Epic as a company not for an specific game.
They tried to focus more on the publicity stunt they pulled, than considering the liabilities of this move. If apple takes out Fortnite after an antitrust suit is presented , that would be retaliation, but if they keep violating the terms, even if they want to convince the public opinion it’s retaliation, it’s within the guidelines it doesn’t matter if they are Epic.
