Bla blu ble blo. Always the same shit. I get too old for that: "No, no, that shitty kiddy Nintendo console is not in the same league as the great adult console I choose!!!!111!!!" It is obvious Sony and Nintendo are vying for the dollars of similar customers. They are rivals. Now, we could argue that they target different parts of the market, and true enough. But that was and is always the case. It is at this point obvious, that MS has a more and more differing strategy, focusing on Gamepass and their coming streaming-service. Does that mean they aren't rivals either? Probably the best, if it is the case, then congratulations, PS5 will obviously the unchallenged winner, as they actually are completely alone in the market. A much more intelligent and interesting approach would be, that the launch sales of the PS5 and XBSX have to be compared to the Switch launch sales, not the current ones. That I would agree with, and it is interesting to see who will have the upper hand in that contest. PS5 will be strong, because as I said before, many strong PS-fans buy the console on brand power alone. Also Switch released in March, not in the holidays. |
I was not calling the switch kiddie or shitty....
And what I am saying is simple, they are only rivals as far as them being in the same industry. But they are not rivals with regard to competing directly. I would think this was obvious.
Maybe I am the one not getting it, but to me, Rivals would be more like looking at the PS vs Xbox. One doing well usually comes at the expense of the other. That's because they are direct rivals. Competing not just in the same industry but for the exact same kinda audience, and in the exact same form factor.
I don't know why saying this (something that I think is clearly obvious by the way) always seems to ruffle feathers.

Each console has more than 2700 games and the Xbox One has 2600 gamrs. If you think the Swith shares only 270 games with the PS4 and Xbox One, you're clearly delusionnal. There hadn't been enough games specificfspecific the Switch to only share less than 300 games with other platforms. |
My point still stands though, the PS/Xbox share way more of their game library between themselves than the PS/Xbox vs Switch. And if 10% is to tough a sell, the make that 30% and my point is still relevant.
But if you want us to actually get into it, how many of those shared games with the switch are AAA games? The CODs, Fifa, Maddens, NBA2k, Fortnite, Cyberpunk, AC, Watchdogs...etc. Basically the big AAA multiplats that drive console sales.
Idk.... I am not gonna get into a debate about this, cause you may say I am delusional, but if you can't see that the PS4/Xbox doesn't share a library with the switch the way they share with themselves the maybe you arete delusional one.
