With the launch getting closer, we're starting to get more leaks from Nvidia's new cards:

A photo of the upcoming Ampere graphics card has been posted on Reddit. The graphics card appears to have 11 memory modules (likely GDDR6X) around the GPU. It is also worth noticing how closely the memory is put together. This is possibly why some leakers referred to the design as compact and complex.
The reason the GPU area sticks out on the back is simple. the leaker deliberately put Intel CPU to cover the area (original picture here). The leaker did say that there is an external chip on the back, but it was not revealed what was its purpose.
The NVLink finger appears to have a different design from Turing
So, let's recap:
- Not a reference card
- 11 memory modules at the back of the card
- an external chip at the back of the Ampere chip (it's blocked by the Intel CPU)
- Different NVLink (will you need a new bridge?)
- 3x8-pin power connectors
