I'm actually completing some college courses now for over a year online. I'm doing it for job security reasons right now, but I am not sure if the money and time I am putting in will make it worth it at the end. Good news it is relatively cheap compared to most universities. |
I had a nagging feeling all through college. I didn’t feel like what I was learning amounted to anything useful. I wanted to make video games. Computer Science doesn’t teach you any of that. Only reason I persisted was because my parents paid for it. Once I graduated I found I was right the whole time. Maybe some people break into the industry that way but it didn’t work for me.
I did end up working for Rockstar and Nintendo for minimum wage along side high school graduates. So for me I learned that to get were you want to go you need to get in the door and then pursue the degree that opens the next door for you. Sounds like you are doing that. So I’d suggest analyzing why you have doubts, write them down on paper. Answer your own question if it is worth it for what you are after.
