Some people only look for the short time saving.

I think most people are actually concerned about cashflow then they are about overall spend in a generation and that makes sense. Spending $10 extra here and there isn't going to hurt you, but $100 in one month goes a long way.

Well if 100 USD more is such a big problem for that person then better not really even expend the 400 already, but yes I know people think different and that is why it would make sense for Sony to offer a 100 cheaper version.

Are you sure man? i mean, we are both from Brazil and $100 dollars cheaper Ps5 will be translated in over R$700 easy. Considering prices in Brazil, i think only people adept to used games market are going to see a return, and there is also the possibility of next gen, PS6 and Xbox (insert bad name), dropping disc drives... I think going digital is the safest route from now on, and this $100 looks like a good deal.

If PS5 discless is $100 less expensive i will go whit it.

Even in Brazil disc versions drop in price faster and also are cheaper on release if you buy on grey market. But yes if you go for those shared account games from mercadolivre you'll save even more. Still I collect games so that isn't a route for me.

And I was discussing USA sales, minimum Wage is like 6x ours and 100 change is less than 10% that minimum wage. In Brazil even this R$700,00 would make 70% of a minimum wage. But don't forget that at launch prices of playstation in Brazil is a lot higher than conversion rate and even plus taxes (like PS3 launching by R$6000,00 and PS4 being 4k) and also that you buy a lot cheaper at grey shops, but those won't see much money from discless so perhaps they won't bring those or will sell for similar price as the disc version. Remember that they weren't bringing X1 because the official price didn't make a big difference from the greyshop so people didn't want to abdicate from monthly payment and official warranty for a small saving.

Retailers can sell all the things you mentioned to people who bought a PS5 with disc drive, on top of physical games.

If I understand you correctly, you suggest that used games were a bad thing for retailers, but the opposite is the case. The purchase and resale of used games is additional business for retailers.

if you talking about gamestop and other that deal whit used games, than you correct, they are losing here. But i think big names like Amazon and Best buy don't deal with used games ( i may be wrong, i live in brazil, things are different here).

That said, you don't need make every retailer happy, you just need to make the Largest to go along with you.

Amazon have a lot of used stuff sold there, not by them, but on their store and they get a cut from it. Best Buy I think they sell used, Walmart I remember seeing.
