I'm a conservative Christian, so:

Moral

  • Birth control (except for the morning after pill)
  • Buying and wearing clothing made of animal fur
  • The death penalty

Gray Area

  • Gambling (as long as you do so responsibly it is probably ok, only betting expendable income, not betting until you are in debt)
  • Drinking alcohol (as long as you do so responsibly it is ok, drinking in small quantities, not driving drunk, not drinking at all if you know you're a violent drunk)
  • Medical testing on animals (depends on the type of testing really, some kinds would be morally questionable)
  • Sex between an unmarried man and woman
  • Smoking marijuana
  • Divorce
  • Gay or lesbian relations
  • Having a baby outside marriage
  • Sex between teenagers
  • Pornography
  • Doctor-assisted suicide

Immoral

  • Stem cell research using human embryos
  • Abortion
  • Cloning animals
  • Polygamy
  • Suicide
  • Cloning humans
  • Married men and women having an affair

Why is smoking weed immoral from a Christian perspective? Is that something actually grounded in what you think god wants, or is it just something the community feels is wrong? Not challenging your beliefs, just honestly curious why, assuming Christianity was true, that would preclude smoking marijuana.
