Keeping Pro around makes less sense than slim... Pro was made more expensive to produce and to the ones that want best performance, that will be covered by PS5, so at most there would be space for a very budget conscious console and PS4 could be it.

True...

What I really believe though is that sony would leave the price of the PS4/PS4pro petty much a is. They would likely drop their prices by like $50 each (PS4@$249/PS4pro@$349) and cut shipments for the PS4 to a crawl.

And I believe they would do this to funnel new buyers towards a "cheap" $399 PS5 DE. There would be a lot of sub $200 PS4s in the used market from a lot of people moving onto the PS5. There is no reason for anyone holding onto their PS4 if buying a PS5.

Keeping the PS4 price kinda high just increases the perceived value of the PS5.

One thing that has to be taken into account is this is the first time we have seen BC become a permanent feature so PS5 playing PS4 software has to factor in to how they look at PS4 going forward my thoughts are they will emphasise the benefits of PS5 BC to both old and new customers, lessening one of the attractions of buying a console late in its life cycle that being having access to a large library.
