That Octane Render result is a bit underwhelming IMO, considering it scaled nearly exactly from the Tesla P100 with no IPC improvements whatsoever, but a 150W increase in power consumption despite the more advanced node.
Yes, yes, they've added some ray tracing machinery and all, but... 400W man. And an even larger die and higher transistor density than ever before.
