Not sure how MS came to a conclusion that going with that artstyle for a next gen Halo would be a good idea. I'm just really confused by what I was seeing - I literally bought my 360 directly because of the Halo 4 E3 demo. Not only was the visuals lacklustre, but the gameplay seems completely unchanged minus the Pathfinder hook :D Not to mention, that if you were following all the teasers etc. there was no indication of this type of aesthetic.

BUT as a person who buys mostly PS games, I think the rest of the show did enough to offset the Halo disappointment. There were some real competition for Sony on display today. Oddly I actually think that this show, reminded me a lot of a fairly typical Sony showcase, not only in pacing, but in the variety of games that was shown.

The ones that caught my attention, and has me considering a Series X:

- Everwild
- Avowed
- Hellblade 2
- State of Decay 3 (not really a fan but this one looked interesting)
- Ori
- Forza
- CrossfireX
- The Gunk (this looked amazing)
- Fable!!!!!!! ( I was really hoping for just a glimpse of gamplay :( )

I guess the one thing holding all these next gen showcases back is the lack of gameplay. Its quite concerning, considering we are only months away from console launches.

If I think back to some of the iconic E3 gameplay reveals like God of War 3, Halo 4, Gears, Forza, Uncharted 2 etc. that seems to be lacking this year. And I feel it somewhat lowers the expectation going into next gen, and maybe thats a good thing.
