27" @2160Pequates to 163 pixels per inch. Not bad.
25" @1440P would net 116 pixels per inch.
Personally I want a 32" non-curved or larger 2160P display with 120hz and preferably IPS over VA. - Perfect display doesn't exist for me yet.
JEMC said: What worries me from this connector is: why the hell does Nvidia want a 600W capable connector?! Disclaimer: I'm quite sure that it's the extra amperage what Nvidia is going after, but it's still shocking. |
The connector seems to have better contacts and durability which should be good for reliability.
Plus there were GPU's starting to trickle out like the MSI lightning series which would come with 3x8-Pin PCI-E cables... Which often meant the inside of a case looked like a birds nest with all the cabling, this essentially consolidates the lot into a single cable.
It should also resolve some of those dodgy PSU cabling where a single PSU cable splits out into twin 6+2 pin cables with low gauge wiring...
Intel is also pushing out a revised spec to the 12v rail on PSU's, so there could be some changes coming to a PSU near you in the immediate future.
I think it's a good change, but if nVidia is placing an "nVidia tax" that requires PSU licensing fees, then it won't be a good thing.
