I don't really see the point of stopping the production of the most interesting console of all 3 versions and keeping a very weak one instead of stopping the production of the S, lowering the price of the X to S levels and announce the Lockhart as a mid-ranger

They would need to drop XB1 X from $300 to $200 or $150 for it to make sense to buy one instead of a Lockhart/Series S for $250-300, since Lockhart has a slightly better better GPU than XB1 X, a much better CPU, and an SSD. MS would lose big money trying to sell XB1 X at $150-200, the chipset is larger and much more expensive to produce than the XB1 S chipset, and also larger and more expensive to produce than the Series S chipset most likely. It is far more affordable for them to sell XB1 S at $150, as it was already selling for $200 last Holiday, so they will only need to drop it by $50 to sell it at $150 this Holiday.

Interesting so Series S will be only marginally better than One X? Thats weird...

Unless they make it very clear Series S is not aimed for 4k and even kind of make it impossible to play 4k.

If it is just an 1080p machine then it will be much more powerful than One X because if I'm not wrong the bottleneck on One X was the processor.
