But yeah, dipping framerates have already been an issue for Xbone, so I can imagine it getting much worse along with blurry pictures for cross-gen titles. I expect Series S will only be targeting 1080p to begin with, so that would still be suited to your situation.

I'm transitioning between two career paths (was a teacher shifting to law), so right now, money is kind of tight (hence the 720p TV I'm using). I'm willing to take a fair hit in graphics quality to save a couple of hundred bucks, particularly since my gaming time is somewhat limited and 80% on the Switch/retro consoles. I'd opt for a Series S if the price difference was 100 bucks, but if it was bigger, I'd probably go with a One S.
