Nah streaming film was pretty clear to be in the future when I saw Moxi in 2002. Mid 2000s stuff like Movie Beam and Tivo and in the 90s with WebTV planted the seeds. It pretty much felt things would go that way. A cable PPV was not that dissimilar. Netflix knew it in 1998 and why they named themselves Netflix in 1998.
