Every time socialism has been tried it fails. That’s because the government can’t possibly be efficient in managing it. Every example where entire economies collapse is due to inevitable government mismanagement.
People who want socialism like the idea of free stuff and aren’t willing to work for a better life like their forefathers. And they also tend to ignore the history which is that it’s good on paper but terrible in practice.
In Canada it’s a good combination. Semi high taxes for great government services but the economy is full capitalism.
