Intel introduces Thunderbolt 4 combining the best of Thunderbolt 3 and USB4 with universal connectivity and enhanced security. This might mean we get to see thunderbolt on Ryzen laptops sometime next year. It does have the same bandwidth as thunderbolt 3 and the improvements are very minor. We probably won't get much of an improvement until Intel fully adopts PCI-E 4.0.
