I never owned an original Xbox but it had a certain mystique about it. I had a PS2 and a GameCube and I loved them but I always felt like I was missing out on something. Online play at a time when it was just beginning to go mainstream or the feeling that it just had one best versions of multiplats. It was definitely a worthy console.

However, I've purchased SEVEN Xbox One consoles. Five for myself, one for my daughter, and one for the son of a lady I used to date. I love it.

I'm not gonna vote but one console never got me to buy it and the other got me to buy one for myself and others.

Five!? Pardon my confusion, but what on Earth did you need five of them for?

Long story. Basically, I grabbed one with Kinect and put it in my game room. At the time, my game room was so small that I couldn't really use Kinect (A lot of people would say this was a blessing). Anyway, I went to buy some game I can't remember and the Xbox One was marked down to like $250 when it was still supposed to be like $400 or something. I couldn't resist.

I put it in my living room and a friend of mine gave me his Kinect. All of a sudden, I could play Kinect games...but there was a side effect.

Cloud storage.

Suddenly, I realized that I could play Xbox in my game room, turn off the console, and continue where I left off in the living room. Not only that, I could buy a game digitally and play two player online with one purchase of a game. Or two people could play the same digital purchase at the same time.

Then, I met my wife. She wanted me in the bedroom with her. I got a grey Xbox One S for the bedroom so I could play in there at night without leaving her alone.

Later, I saw an ad on Amazon for a portable XBO S screen. I thought, "Hmm...I could take my Xbox on trips..." but the screen only came in white. My Xbox was grey. I had to buy a white one!

And finally, after getting a PS4 Pro (to improve my PSVR experience), I bought a 4K TV to take full advantage of the Pro. Microsoft released the Xbox One X so I needed it to take full advantage of the TV!
