A lot of people can’t make the distinction between not liking something and that thing being inherently bad. People may not like the story or characters in TLOU2, but that doesn’t make the game badly written. Most of the comments saying the game or certain characters are badly written don’t seem to be able to bring up arguments as to what is so bad about them, other than “I don’t lime it” and “it’s bad“. |
That is something good about series, movies and games... on books no matter how good an author is he is limited by himself. When you have a team of writers you can more easily differentiate the chars and put characteristics on then even the annoying ones.
I think the story and some chars of TLOU2 will really garn a lot of hate, but as time pass by and everything settles the game will see a ressurgence of appreciation. And I have to say, Neil was very bold. And again after finishing the game and having platined I can very much see several elements that are from a progressive thinking and politics inserted on the game, but even some that were totally unecessary were very well done and felt natural. So for me it is a 10/10 game, it sure still needs to improve enemy AI, partner interaction in battle, quality of life on the collectibles and chapter selection (just use what they do in UC), perhaps add option to have infinite ammo after you finish the game.
