I don't think it'll sell 10 million copies. D2 only sold some 3.5 million copies. I'd say maybe 4-5m.

I'm estimating Diablo 2's sales at around 7-8 millions.

We know that the Diablo franchise sold over 17 millions copies (Diablo + Diablo: Hellfire + Diablo II + Diablo II: Lord of Destruction) from Vivendi's Report.

The first Diablo sold 2.5 millions copies. So there's 15.5 millions left for the rest.

Diablo: Hellfire couldn't have sold more than 2.5 millions too. A more reasonable figure would be 1.5 millions (the expansion wasn't even made by Blizzard). So there's 14 millions left for Diablo II and it's expansion.

Diablo II sold 1 million in the first 2 weeks. Then sold 2.8 millions in the first 6 months. Then sold 4 millions in the first 12 months, just before the expansion was released which no doubt would give a boost to DII's sales.

Since there's 14 millions to divide between Diablo II and Lord of Destruction, it would be probable for Diablo II to have 8 millions copies sold and the expansion have 6 millions.

For Comparison, Starcraft sold 'only' 1.5 millions in it's first year. Yet when it was all said and done, the number was pegged at 9.5 millions copies (including Brood War). That's the PC Game legs right there, just like what happened to Diablo II.
