I will say this once again. It is a 5-6/10 for me. Despite me hating its story, I still cannot emphasize how damn beautiful the visuals are. It really is a tragedy. There were moments in this game that hit hard and were really close to the first game. But sadly, it just comes up short because of how much of a mess the whole story is.

Have you played the game or watched YT? And please give your score for other triple A games so we can put it in context.

It was a mix. I watched the first 2 hours in a stream, I played some parts of the game and also watched a friend play it. My friend shared his copy. I was never going to buy it but he really wanted to play it. So he bought one just to give it a benefit of a doubt. So we were playing sections of the game in turns. After we finished the play through, we were both disappointed at the game.

And for the score, I phrased that poorly. Let me rephrase that. I do not agree with the reviewers giving this a 9-10/10. It is a severely flawed game. In my opinion there is nothing really good in this game that can make up for the massive flaws it has to justify such a high review score.

Despite the first game being a clunky mess, the experience it provides was something that was not too common for its time. Till this day, it still holds a special place in my heart. I still play that game. The critical acclaim it got aligns with the value that I find in this game.

Now will I purchase my own copy of TLOU2 and play it again? Absolutely not. It's a terrible follow up to the first game and just disrespects the legacy of the first game which was its really good story telling and compelling characters.
