It started preloading the second I hit buy, unfortunetly.

ah, that's too bad then - Sony should really update this policy to accept refunds for games that haven't been started .. unfortunately there seems to be no legal pressure to do so, as afaik Nintendo recently won a case with the same digital preorder policy here in the EU
