I've only played 4, 6, 7, 10, 13, 15, and 7R. 15 was the only one that I lost interest in. The combat was unsatisfying in pretty much all respects, the world wasn't interesting, and the story wasn't terribly engaging. It was pretty to look at, at least. I stopped playing it to work on other games, and I haven't had any desire to go back and finish it. I may get around to doing so one day.

Yeah that's the draw of Final Fantasy games if the game isn't fun to play it isn't worth it.

Even if a Final Fantasy game has a mediocre story at least it has charm and quirkiness to it and decent gameplay. The combat should be fulfilling and have depth to it. Hell, even 13 combat with its paradigm system was good once you got into it. FFVIII draw system was okay and the other Final Fantasy I've played had at least a good/passable story and gameplay whether it was turn based or tactics based.

15 was the first Final Fantasy I given up on just on the premise, it just lost the magic for me.
