I find that Himalayan salt is less salty. You have to use more to get the same amount of saltiness. 

I think you're right on that. I actually use salt water instead of mouthwash almost all the time instead of mouthwash ( something I'm going to curtail, since sodium is absorbed in the mouth ), and I have noticed that I seem to need to use more with Himalayan.
