The reason N64 or GC even though as failures will be well remembered and X1 won't is the games.

Remove your prefferences from the equation and look at the top 10 best reviewed exclusives of N64 and X1 and you'll see.

Oh I’m aware. Owned both myself, no regrets. Just saying it could have been much worse. And its funny but it plays right into my tastes that some of my favourite games from both made their way to Xbox and was able to play again. Perfect Dark was my favourite N64 title and they remastered it for Xbox years ago. Nice personal touch.

I believe you and I don't think you should regret. If you don't really like Sony exclusives then X1 would at least be equal to it (even if selling lower) and if you like Xbox exclusives it will be better.

I have 0 problem with X1 being your favorite console ever, probably is for quite many people. I was just pointing out that years after release N64 will be better remembered than X1 (because we compare those to the time they existed and to who it competed) just as DK, 007 and BK will be more remembered than SoT.

People may think it is strange that you like most MS titles and seem to be tailored to your taste, but for me most Sony IPs are also a very good fit to me. And probably the same for most Nintendo fans. And that is the reason we prefer one platform or another.
