Insomiac was bought AFTER Spiderman came out and Spiderman is a game that took several years to even get greenlit. Some of the major people who made that deal happen have now long since moved on to other companies. Boys. (Now at Iron Galaxy) Johnny V (Nintendo) and others. Rare was bought in the non HD era. That era games were pumped out faster.

Ninja Theory was bought in 2018 and by 2019 they already teased hellbalde 2 and project mara. Why was this an exception?

They only teased them. They have yet to show gameplay of either. They showed an in engine model, not gameplay. NT is also a sizeable studio with over 120 people. Nintendo teased Metroid Prime 4 in 2017 and Bayonetta. Atlus SMTV. Seen nothing since. Hellblade 1 was not a large game anyway. 6 hours maybe 8 so it might be easier to get Hellblade out by maybe the end of this year or a 2021 game. Do you people really not know how game development works?

Pre HD era the average length was 18 months. Now it can average 2-4 years. Have you not noticed the slower output of most developers. 6th gen companies pumped out several sequels and IPs in 5 years. 7th gen they slowed to mostly being a couple of IPs and the rest outsourced. Some studios have the manpower and/or insane crunch to pump out more. These days it might be 1-3 games entire gen. If they have more it's much much smaller projects.
