I know some studios have multiple teams. But keep in mind that Sony's studios typically have 250 to 450 staff, while most of MS's studios barely have 100. If MS really plans to compete with Sony's 1st party exclusives, I'm not sure splitting up those smaller studios into even smaller teams for passion projects is the smartest thing to do. Personally I think they are doing a lot of smaller games because they want to fill up the Gamepass library and they don't want to take big risks with new AAA ip's, especially next gen exclusives. Maybe I'm wrong but if we look at MS's history, there's a reason why many are skeptical.

I get it that their best games take risks and you get rewarded with great games every gen. Still from my perspective I can only handle so much 3rd person action adventures. I like MP games, FPS, WRPGs and anything turn based. That’s why I prefer Xbox because it covers those bases. And when I got that third person game itch I’ll play Gears or Hellblade.

By the way with the RTS comment the Xbox ecosystem spans PC and they are committed to making them happy too. Gears Tactics on Pc first, Flight SIM and Age of Empires is to make them catered to as well. From a platform culture perspective its different then Sony still confining everybody to one platform so I understand us not being on the same page.

Obsidian alone is a great counter to your last point. A big title from them will send a message I’ll admit Xbox couldn’t do in a long time. Throw in the other new studio projects on top of the Xbox trinity and it’s a nice mix of old and new.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.
