https://www.pcgamer.com/play-the-windjammers-2-demo-on-steam-tomorrow/
The Steam Game Festival begins tomorrow, and you'll be able to hit the beach and blow off some steam in Windjammers 2, which will be available in demo form. To see what you're in store for, take a gander at the very brief trailer above.

Play the melee battle royale Ran: Lost Islands for free in the Steam Game Festival
https://www.pcgamer.com/play-the-melee-battle-royale-ran-lost-islands-for-free-in-the-steam-game-festival/
Ran: Lost Islands is a 16th century-style 100-player battle royale, with classes based on ninja, samurai, and conquistador archetypes, who come together on a cursed island to clash in a last-man-standing brawl for glory and gold. You might immediately think that the last thing the world needs right now is yet another battle royale game, but unlike most of them, this one is focused on melee combat—and starting tomorrow, you'll be able to try it out for free in an open beta that will run during the Steam Game Festival: Summer Edition.

Minute of Islands is an oddly beautiful game about dead giants and their mysterious machines
https://www.pcgamer.com/minute-of-islands-is-an-oddly-beautiful-game-about-dead-giants-and-their-mysterious-machines/
Mo is a tinkerer who lives on a chain of islands that was once inhabited by an ancient race of giants, whose strange, dilapidated machines must be kept running in order to keep a ancient, mysterious threat at bay. She sets off on a quest to restore them all, to ensure the protection of her people and her home—but there may be more to the task than she fully realizes.

Fortnite item shop: The final Season 2 skin is basically Mysterio
https://www.pcgamer.com/fortnite-item-shop-update-cyclo-skin/
The Fortnite Device event (AKA the Doomsday event that will lead us out of Season 2 and into Fortnite Season 3) is almost here, but Epic is giving us one last snazzy new look. The Cyclo skin is now available in the item shop, but will be gone soon. Here's a look.

Fortnite's Device event pushes back the storm and kicks off a biblical flood
https://www.pcgamer.com/fortnite-device-event-flood-watch/
The Fortnite Device event has brought a biblical amount of water to the map, but perhaps not in the way you might have imagined. Instead of raising the water levels, Epic has replaced the traditionally purple electric storm that pushes players towards each other with a giant fish-filled wall of water that you can swim in. We also got a taste of some genuine, honest-to-god lore featuring Jonesy. Fortnite Season 3 is probably going to be a wet one.

Fortnite glitch seems to reveal a fully-functioning first-person mode
https://www.pcgamer.com/fortnite-glitch-seems-to-reveal-a-fully-functioning-first-person-mode/
As usually seems to be the case in Fortnite, some weird stuff is going down. James and Joseph wrote about the ongoing Device event earlier today, and it involves a lot of water: instead of a purple electric storm there's a towering water wall of biblical proportions. Also: electricity. Also: sudden inexplicable teleportations into a drab office environment.
Make of all that what you will, but the event has apparently introduced an interesting glitch. It's hard to tell how widespread it is, but at least one player has glitched into a fully-fledged, fully-playable first-person mode.

Fight crabs as a crab in Fight Crab on July 30
https://www.pcgamer.com/fight-crabs-as-a-crab-in-fight-crab-on-july-30/
The first rule of Fight Crab appears to be that there are no rules. Crabs have guns, knives, swords, axes, chains, magic powers, and even wheels. Sometimes the crabs are crab-sized and fight on dinner tables, other times they're bigger than cars and fight on city streets.

Gearbox sues 3D Realms over Duke Nukem, again
https://www.pcgamer.com/gearbox-sues-3d-realms-over-duke-nukem-again/
In 2014, Gearbox sued 3D Realms and Interceptor Entertainment over Duke Nukem: Mass Destruction, a top-down action-RPG they were developing without the approval of Gearbox, which acquired the property in 2010. The case was settled a year later, Gearbox was affirmed as the full owner of Duke Nukem, Mass Destruction morphed into Bombshell, and all was well—until last year, when composer Bobby Prince filed suit against Gearbox, Valve, and Randy Pitchford over music he'd written for Duke Nukem 3D, which he claimed was used without permission in the Gearbox-published Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour.
Now Gearbox has filed a new lawsuit against Apogee Software (the legal name of 3D Realms) and co-founders Scott Miller and George Broussard that alleges breach of contract in relation to the sale of the Duke Nukem IP a decade ago. Simply but, Gearbox is saying that 3D Realms failed to mention that it didn't own that music when it sold the Duke Nukem rights.

Unfortunate Spacemen, the paranoia-inducing asymmetrical multiplayer game, has left Early Access, and in the move to launch it appears to have shed its price. You can now grab it for free.

EndeavorRx is an FDA-approved game that requires a prescription to play
https://www.pcgamer.com/endeavorrx-is-an-fda-approved-game-that-requires-a-prescription-to-play/
EndeavorRx is a brightly-coloured hoverboarding game that looks like a million other games for kids. You speed down corridors, avoid obstacles, collect critters and pick your look from a rotating list of skins. You also need a prescription to play.
For the first time, the US Food and Drug Administration, has approved a game for the treatment of ADHD in children aged between 8 and 12, and while it's not available to anyone right now, when it launches on iOS the only way anyone will be playing it is if they visit their doctor and get a prescription.

Little Devil Inside is being tweaked to remove racist stereotypes
https://www.pcgamer.com/little-devil-inside-is-being-tweaked-to-remove-racist-stereotypes/
Little Devil Inside is a fetching survival RPG that was Kickstarted way back in 2015 and recently got shown off during the PS5 reveal event. The new trailer makes it look like an extremely appealing adventure, but it drew criticism for one of the enemy designs.
