Anyone else is surprised, and a bit worried, by Jim Keller's sudden departure from Intel?

Given that he will still be an advisor for 6 months at Intel and that he isn't leaving to pursue "other interests or opportunities", as people say when they leave to find a better (paying) job, but to spend more time with his family... I don't know, it doesn't sound good to me.

Not really.

Jim Keller is always wandering around like that. When he feels his job is done, he goes looking for the next potential employer. He also did the same at Apple and at AMD after all.

Yes, but at both Apple and AMD he worked until his contract was done, and then left to look for somethign new. This time he has resigned.
