Greatest return to form for a franchise

Resident Evil VII after the franchise lost the horror element 3 games prior to me is the one that stands out the most.

FFVIIRemake would be another example.
DQ8, tho to a lesser extent. 4, 5 and 6 were all fantastic. Only DQ7 was kinda meh.
