The "Lack" of value on Final Fantasy VII Remake

I will never understand this sentiment. If a remake or reboot of a movie or game ruins your childhood. Maybe your childhood wasn't very good, to begin with? You always have the original. Star Trek is one of my fave franchises and they have destroyed it with the JJ films and recent TV series. I just pretend they don't exist and still enjoy the older films and TV shows.

It’s obviously a form of hyperbole, used to emphasize a point.  It did not literally ruin my childhood.  Basically, I’m not happy with the way square went about remaking this game.
