They won't go third party in our lifetime to be honest. Many many people who keep imagining the doom and gloom thing don't even realise how powerful a position the company is in behind the scenes; since July 2018, they've got like something around $4 Billion cash on hand (likely a lot more now!) to spend on general developement projects, production, literally anything they want. So they're basically safe to take risks on interesting yet very weird stuff like Labo, RingFit Adventure and who knows what else is to come in the future. It's said they can take heavy losses every year for like more than 30 years and still be in the clear (likely longer with how well recent games have sold!).
There's a reason a company is still running after 130 years and has survived many many failures in the past; they were a very weird company back in the early days before video games were a thing. Starting off as a card company, moving onto doing instant rice packs, love hotels, and a taxi service. They've been doing lots of different and strange stuff before, which has obviously transitioned when they went into video games.
