Two and a half hours in. It looks amazing and the remastered soundtrack is beautiful ^^

However... I have mixed feelings about how sidequests are handled now. On one hand, now you don't need to be blindly looking for items and people, which could become very tedious in the original. But on the other hand... I feel like I'm following the map rather than exploring the world. It's like the sense of scope and exploration has been toned down a bit, and I don't think I like that.

Gameplay wise is a huge improvement, but I don't know if I fully like the change xD

I mean, you can always explore just for the heck of it. Even then, you're not obligated to set a sidequest in the active state in the Story Memo section.

I could do those things you say, but then I would lose the obvious benefits on sidequests that I mentioned before. That's why I don't know how to feel about it xD

As for exploring for the heck of it... It's difficult to do that when sidequests already take you through most of the map.

Maybe I'm overthinking things. I'll just keep playing. The attack on Colony 9 is about to begin ^^

Also, you guys are right. Expert mode is a blessing. By this point I would be level 12 and easily kill even the unique monsters. But now I just modify my level to be in the line of the enemies in the zone. Much better... Also, I'm not sure, but I think I'm gaining more AP this way, which is very nice ^^

Oh, I also tried portable mode. Looks much better than Xenoblade 2 and despite it looking a bit soft, in general it holds up really well. I would even go as far as to call it "pretty". Cutscenes on portable surprised me as well, because if you told me they ran at native 720p I would believe it.
