Series S would be a great level entry console if the rumors are true. It is a step above Xbox One X, but is weaker enough than PS5 and Xbox Series X to be $200 or so cheaper. 

Yeah that would be great value. I mean, I usually buy a new Xbox controller for PC use anyway so win win for me; should it exist.

That, and I also really want to replay Lost Odyssey in 4k xP
