Inaba of Platinum games is correct. The switch is the only thing that really felt new and different and exciting. Graphics just don't feel like that big of a difference anymore. Must be the reason I was never impressed by Platinum Games graphics, guess they stopped improving during PS2 era.

heh. You don't remember what PS2 looked like then. But they do use an in house engine. Astral Chain looked great tho but the main thing is they play amazingly. They offer experiences no one else can deliver.
