After selling so many copies of GTA V (seriously, those are trully impressive numbers), and the success of GTA Online, I wonder if their deal with Epic to give away the game for free is a way for the execs of Take Two to see if a free to play GTA game with heavy focus on the multiplayer would be a better business model.

I'm sure they'll take a closer look at all the new players and see how much they spend in GTA Online compared to those that bought the game.

Not that they're doing bad, tho, those are very good numbers.

Considering how much GTA V has sold?

Not in a million years they will make it free to play, even with the biggest of monitization practices. The simple reason why is that it would sell/make money as well as being a full priced game.

Relax, I was just speculating.

After all, Take Two must have a good reason to give the game away for free, and I doubt the money Epic has given them for that deal is the only one for that given that they could have made that money for themselves and don't need that extra income.
