Yeah, but DDR3 is dead by now, meaning any change in Memory would cost you an arm and a leg now, and it has no M.2. Which is what I meant with hopelessly outdated performance, upgrading that PC is, apart from the GPU or some extension card, pretty much impossible by now. And PCI-E 3.0 could soon become another limiting factor for GPUs.

Also, little error from myself: The 3820 is still a 4c/8t, only the 3930K and up are 6c/12t.

It also shows how stagnant the PC CPU market was when AMD was a non-factor. On the GPU side, we're far away from Kepler or GCN 1 GPUs that were probably originally in your build, but on the CPU side, the evolution was so much slower that your chip is still a viable option for both gaming and content creation to this day.

Quad Channel DDR3 1866 is still faster than dual chanel DDR4 3200.

DDR3 might be dead, but it's an old system and still capable of running the latest games with the occasional GPU upgrade, the memory bandwidth is still "hanging in there" with your average mid-range PC.

Been keeping an eye out for a cheap Xeon E5-2690 v2 and upgrading it to 10-cores, 20 threads with a max clock of 3.6ghz, can usually get them for under $300 AUD if you are patient enough.

Cod Modern Warfare now exceeds 200GB install size... What's going to be next gen? 300GB? 400GB? 500GB? Jeez

Also some initial leaks for Zen 3. Take it with a grain of salt.

"According to the sources, exactly 4.6 GHz boost clock and 4.0 GHz base clock are hidden behind the number sequence 46/40 on the eight-core, while the 16-core is also listed with 4.6 Ghz boost and only 3.7 base clock. These values are of course anything but final and one could expect the predicted clock increases for the A1 revision at the latest. How high these will be, is not yet known.

Doesn't that include the free-to-play game mode data though?

Pretty much. It's why I can't wait for Age of Empires VI. I hope to shit MS doesn't fuck this up cause there hasn't been a fap worthy RTS game for a long time.

Age of Empires is doing really well during the COVID era right now as well.

They shouldn't have closed down Ensemble.

It does but I wish that thing was optional. I never had any interest in battle royal games and all it's doing is taking up space. I liked when Cod was on steam and they separated single player and multiplayer downloads so if you finished the SP or you don't want to bother with MP, you didn't need to install it. The new Cod is like, here's a game mode that is completely separate from the normal MP and it's filled with cheaters since it's free to play but you gotta install it anyway even if you don't use it. It's like an additional 20-30GB if you own Codmw.

And yea, I miss Ensemble days T_T

It was also a shame when EA closed westwood studios as they are doing C&C remasters now.
