Dragon Quest XI S removed the multi-parted crossbow sidequest which had lots of statboosting seeds as reward; it hurts doubly, because DQ XI has an exploit to duplicate items at a specific point in the game. Removal of content should immediately disqualify a Definitive Edition as definitive. Your overexaggeration and hyperbole regarding TW101 is just that. You want it to be a big deal, but it really isn't. But I've seen much worse, like the ResetEra thread about Valkyria Chronicles 4's buttslap scene that made people root for the sales failure of the game. The cherry on top were moderators who banned people for merely explaining the full context of the scene, because reason would have got into the way of the desired collective outrage regarding the poor treatment of women. |
IIRC, you can get the seeds of that sidequest by other means. But even if that wasn't the case, that's just one minor change that pales in comparison with what the new stuff the Switch version got. Let's say it's a -1 one for the crossbow thing and +100 for all the other stuff. It's the Definitive Edition alright.
I'm overexaggerating things... or maybe you are trying to sugar coat them. Who knows. I believe this thing is a pretty bad product overall that doesn't deserve the "remastered" title.
I've seen worse than me too. Metroid Prime Federation Force comes to mind. People did an online petition to stop its development because the game was not what they wanted. The game wasn't even bad, it was actually pretty good. They just didn't want it to exist. THAT was overexaggerating xD
