I agree with some of what you said, but MS has gotten extremely aggressive and are doing a hell of a lot right. They’re coming for Sony’s lunch, and so far Sony has not demonstrated much strength or confidence to answer. Sony’s PlayStation division still seems so disjointed and poorly run. That GDC tech demo exemplifies this. Really. Who greenlit that event? As a PlayStation guy, it worries me. I do think MS will take back at least some market share next gen, primarily in the US and UK.

The absolute no. 1 thing Sony has going for it that is a major advantage over MS is their first party stable. But I think MS will outdo Sony at launch. With what we know right now, Sony is not giving an equal answer to MS’s launch game of Halo 6. Even Horizon ZD 2 would not be as much of a system seller as a proper Halo 6 IMO. I’ve said it before that I think Sony choosing not to launch TLoUp2 with PS5 is a massive mistake. By that time, even if it’s ready for PS5’s launch, it will be old news compared to Halo 6, which I predict will be massive and game changing for the franchise, similar to God of War 2018. And I think this will result in MS taking back some market share right from the beginning.
