It feels like her character was created and developed in good faith to me.All in all I'm happy with how Overwatch has handle its gay characters. For both Tracer and Soldier 76 they went with a quick glimpse into their personal lives in the comics they released and didn't dwell on it because it's not their sole defining characteristic.
On another note, I've heard the cutest story in relation to Overwatch. There is a lesbian couple who cosplays as Pharah and Mercy and during Comicon Liverpool, @less_ayren proposed to @stach_cosplay (don't know their reals name) with both the voice actresses for Pharah and Mercy present.
