What has happened, and still happens, with monitors is mental. The low and mid segment have stagnated for years and years, stuck at 1080p and 60Hz, with the only change being that now many are IPS. But beyond that point, the high end and the enthusiast market, the tech inside them has advanced a lot, but at the cost of insane prices.

That's what irks me the most tbh. I'm still with my 1440p 165hz monitor, but I've virtually next to no interest in 4k, mostly due to the lacking HDR support on PC, as well as 4k monitors costing a mint. If I grab a 3000 series GPU, I'll likely expect to do 4k 60fps, but with RT being added into the mix I may as well stick with 1440p, since I'm all about having decent settings and higher fps, over another res bump and toned back settings.

What I really need is a monitor that doesn't have crushed blacks, because that's the biggest gripe I have with this monitor at the moment.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
