Currently, customers in USA can get a 60 GB PS3 with the Emotion Engine for 500 dollars, while European customers can get it without the Emotion Engine for 600 euros. As you probably know, that means 816 dollars, or a 316 dollars difference.

Yes, I know that part of that difference is taxes and higher distribution costs, but I also know that Sony is screwing European customers. Will this go on, or will they drop the European price too? Are they happy with sales in Europe?

you've already answerd to your question...selling 20K PS3 per week at 816$ is just like selling almost 30k consoles per week in the US...and i bet Sony would be quite happy if they could sell 30k consoles per week in the US in this time of the year.

So you think they're happy with European sales, even considering they're lower than the 360's?

maybe "happy" is too much of a big word, but actually PS3 sales are on par with x360's and given the huge difference in price and the lack of games (no one has bought a PS3 only for motorstorm or Resistance) i can assume that here in Europe Ps3 isn't doing that bad...at least isn't a disaster like in Japan or US.
