The Last of Us is too big for the quality of the game or it's messages to keep it's minimum sales below exceptional. The only question is whether those sales will be deserved or not.

Also, I don't speak for everyone, but my issue with the recent influx of political messages in entertainment generally isn't the message itself, unless it's something blatantly false like women being oppressed in the western 1st world anymore then men are. My problem is when it doesn't fit into the context of the story and is hamfisted into an already established and popular series as this seems to always mean the quality suffers hard for it.

You want to put messages in the entertainment you're making? By all means go for it but make it original and make sure entertainment is still the priority. Stop hijacking big prexisting franchises and only using them as a platform for your message.

EDIT: Not saying for sure this is the case with TLoU2 just yet, will wait til the game is actually out.
