And? GoT was popular, but hardly went on a high note. They appeal to the demographics so what do you mean?

You mean key characters dying and yet those shows still were popular? Key difference is that they are shows that had dozens of episodes. Plenty time to introduce new characters and flesh out older ones. LOU2 came out 7 years after the first. The pacing of each is key to understand the difference of examples.

Game of Thrones absolutely did go out on a high note, despite what the internet would lead you to believe. The final two episodes were the most watched in the series despite how divisive the final seasons were.

I'm picking at the middle part of your post. The "this is a game made for Western audiences" stuff, implying that Western audiences don't drink up media full of violence, deaths of beloved characters and additions of modern progressive themes. The most popular media franchises on the planet (Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, MCU, Star Wars and Grand Theft Auto to name a few) are fully sprinkled with violence, beloved character deaths and/or modern progressive themes. The first TLoU game was full of these themes too. Ellie's relationship with Riley is key to her entire character, Joel straight up tortures and executes people.

I get your stance but end of day I didn’t consider LOU to be woke or divisive. This is. We can both explain our positions but that’s the basic reality.
