I honestly think that Bethesda are really, really bad at coding AI in general. There have been so many times in Fallout games, or ES ones, where I've been able to cheese the AI, good and ally based, without many consequences.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
