Not really, just enjoy the ride. Because it's one hell of a ride. However, just be prepared for the infamous plot dump on Disc 2. Since you've played the FFs on PS1, then I can wholeheartedly recommend playing this game. Gets pretty dark at times, but also don't get turned off by the Mechas. I know a lot of people who tried to pass on this game because they thought it was about generic Mechas. The way the Mechas or Gears in this game are implemented is quite nice. But that's all I can say, it's a PS1 JRPG Classic that stands toe to toe with the likes of FFVII in my opinion. As a matter of fact, Xenogears was considered as a draft for FFVII before it was deemed too dark for FF and there are remnants of Xenogears' plot in FFVII.
Yeah, but let me shut up. I will talk your ear off about this game if I don't.
PS: Great game for the quarantine life.
