I like FF7 myself but i feel you,since FF13 people have been waiting for the fabula novela project to be over and that just ended with FF15 so that's a lot of years and now the focus is on FF7 remake.

I too am very curious about FF16 and wonder if they will mix up more traditional elements in it to appease old and new fans and how they will implement what they learned from feedback on past games.

I'm just cruising on the hope that whatever they will do it cannot possibly be worse than FFXV.

I understand a remake doesn’t satisfy you, but Square-Enix is pouring everything they have in the project and treat it as if it was the next instalment in the main numbered series.

I think you’ll get a good idea if they’re back on track or not when you play the Remake. Maybe not from a story/scenario perspective (since it’s a retreading of an already existing story), but from the rest of the design aspects (especially gameplay) it will hopefully display a real sense that they’re finally taking the series back in the right direction.
